Building a Sturdy Foundation

Day 44!  The inspector is supposed to come tomorrow to check the forms for the foundation before they pour the cement. Here is what the space is looking like these days.
Here is a look at one of the many floors that were laid under my blue floor.  I think this is the original floor from 1952. When we moved in the backsplash was also yellow and brown.  The guys ended up digging under the kitchen wall to be able to shore it up so that the second story can be built.

And then I have been doing a lot of shopping...still picking out things for the house like tubs, fixtures, floors, tiles, sinks, etc.  Here are a few things that caught my eye!

Still working on getting a good running kitchen set up...but I have made 3 meals in the crockpot and done dishes once in my camp kitchen sink.

Making Progress

Things are back on track at the house. We woke up Monday morning to the crew working in the back yard digging for the foundation. They have been building the forms all week and I think they will be pouring cement next week.

I also have started shopping for all of the items in the house like sinks, tubs, tile, faucets, lights, etc...Kind of fun....kind of overwhelming! Here are some of the things that have caught my eye...nothing is set in stone yet...

House Designs

Here are the drawings for the house...it's hard to make decisions without seeing the space....we went back and forth about 10 times I think and now that I am shopping for items and looking a lot at designs on the internet....wish I could still make adjustments. I know some things are adjustable and some things aren't...
The existing house is 1040 sq. ft.  The new part is in grey.

Basically adding a whole new house onto the back side of the old house.

Rain Delay

We have lost 6 days of work due to the rains of this last weekend!  Hoping to get back on track this week Thursday.  My project manager has sent me shopping for everything this week so I have been looking all over online for ideas for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, tiles, colors, flooring, and appliances...yikes!

Here's a few shots of this last week.
Trying to survive the rain.

Daisy LOVED the rain and the puddles and the mud!

My gutted kitchen.

Our temporary laundry room: The Laundromat!  It takes about 3 hours to do our family's laundry for the week...and about $25 bucks.
